Timez Attack

multiplication logo_windows_mini apple-logo-minitryitfree Timez Attack is an amazing new video game exclusively for kids to easily learn multiplication tables. You have got to see this game to believe it.

It is easily the best game we have ever seen for teaching the times tables. Timez Attack is as high-tech and entertaining as any of the best video games. It is engaging, fun, and highly effective.

Yet, it constantly gauges what a child does and doesn't know, then crafts a customized strategy for teaching them whatever they need to learn--all in real-time! They have a free version as well, so there isn't any reason not to try it if you have a child struggling with multiplication, or one who will be  facing it in school soon.

Game Trailer:

Chase dangerous monsters, find your way through maze-like tunnels, and learn multiplication at the sametimezdragon time! Timez Attack is like a first person shooter game where you do math to defeat your foes.   No actual shooting required!

This educational game is similar to games such as Doom, Quake or Half-life, but there is no violence. In order to defeat the monsters you meet on your way through winding tunnels and secret doors, you need to solve mathematical problems.

The graphics are very realistic and the gameplay is smooth. When your kids get into this game, they will learn the multiplication tables very fast!  The game has a free version and also a paid version that has more levels, cooler monsters, and whizzier special effects.

Day by Day Homeschooling   by Dawn  Is the game fun? Heck, yes. Is it a good drill program. Heck, yes!  What's at stake for the character is his freedom. Running through the dark stone corridors, passing under flickering torches and battling huge trolls in multiplication drill style for the keys that will help him to freedom has had my daughter on the edge of her seat every time she sat down to play. I can't really say more about the gameplay then that. If it has a seasoned gamer like Catherine begging to play it they obviously got that part right.  Read the rest of this review...

 1. Timez Attack does what it promises.

We originally just downloaded the free version of this game. But we ended up liking it so much that we sprung for the full version. The game does look great and plays like a console game (I mean that in a good way[smiley=wink]). Our two boys, 7 and 9, love the game and even the 7 yo has learned all the lower numbers. It has been a suprisingly good game all around. My only possible complaint is that it seems like it is geared a bit more toward boys than girls. Especially if your's is a "princess-y" girl. In that case, definitely let her play around with the trial version before you buy.

 3. The game that started it all!
Elle Sanders, Editor
This game is much beloved here at Super Smart Games, as it is the game that started the whole idea of this website.

While looking for some fun, but reasonably educational, games for the kids in our family to play, I came across Timez Attack. The kids enjoyed it so much, and were learning so fast, that we immediately bought the full version. And it was very worth it. The machine world and the lava world are great fun, and challenging even without the math. You really can forget that this game is teaching!

Everyone in our family has had a go (or two or three) with this game, and the kids have to kick us off from time to time just to get their turns again. [smiley=evil]

After seeing what was possible in educational gaming, I went searching for more games that could capture a kid's attention while also providing a positive learning experience. And I was surprised at what a challenge that turned out to be.

There are terrific websites that offer parents and family members a run-down on what general games are suitable for kids, but none that we could find that focus on games that are educational as well as fun. I was developing a website about video games already (of a very different sort) and those plans just didn't seem as important, or as rewarding, as putting together this site.

So there you have it. Timez Attack is the game that launched a whole different kind of website, and I for one will always have a special place for it in my heart, and in the CD drawer of my computer. [smiley=happy]

Just like the developer mentions, our 11 year old daughter was having real problems in math, and couldn't seem to memorize the multiplication tables. So when we gave her this game for her birthday last week, it wasn't exactly her favorite gift [smiley=rolleyes]lol! But we got it out and played it with her, she started to get into it, and after some time she really started to enjoy it.

She says that it has helped her quite a bit already. I know that she likes it more than she lets on even, because she got it out to play with her friends who came over after school today. They got up to the beginning of the Dragon and Fire area.

It has many little puzzles and challenges beyond just the math. We've only had this for a week or so, but I think it was very worth the money. Our daughter is playing a MATH game, and showing it off to her friends. I would never have guessed that![smiley=shock]

Thank you for such a great game!

 6. This is a great game!

My daughter fell in love with this game the moment she tried it. This game is so much fun even for a grownup![smiley=cool] My little one is very princess like by the way, but she still loves the game. Thank you so much for the game. It saves me the time I had to spend with my daughter to help her memorize, and I do not even have to feel guilty about letting her play when she has to study her math[smiley=wink].

 7. Very nice game

This is a very well thought out game. I'm surprised that no one thought of this before. It looks great and plays well. All it does is get you to memorize the multiplication tables, but in such a way that you don't feel like you are being "drilled", even though, in fact, you are.
This is a huge keeper, and I will use it for all 3 of my children as they grow up. Although they may end up having it all memorized by the time they face it in school. In which case what will they tell their teachers I wonder?
"Oh, I already know this stuff. I played a video game."
What will the teachers think? [smiley=laugh]

Hi Dar-

Try going to the Big Brainz website http://www.bigbrainz.com/Contact.php and writing to the email address they provide. We had a little problem with the game several months ago, and they helped us out right away.
Great game, great support.

 15. This game is AMAZING

I have to say: this is the very best game I've ever seen for kids who want to learn their times tables. I work at a school with varying levels of congnitive functioning and varying grade levels, and I have had success with this in every class. In fact, I use this as "reward free time." The students L O V E it, and it really works. We're trying to buy the upgrade soon, but just the free version is great and it goes all the way from 2 to 12!
