Reviews:
ChessAssistance.com by Robert Pawlak I found Dinosaur Chess to be a real quality piece of software, and it is
clear that time, resources and attention were lavished upon it. This program is
suitable for parents who know absolutely nothing about chess, but want their
children to learn. My admittedly small sample size leads me to believe that this
program is a very good choice for those people that are either too busy, or are
unable to teach their kids the game. So it gets two big thumbs up from me. Read the rest of this review...
One person has commented so far. 1. Very fun, great teacher!Tuesday, RegisteredI bought this game for my daughter but ended up sneaking some time with it myself. The game is a very clever chess teacher, in that the game is fun and funny (the dinosaur professor is charming and funny) and each piece is introduced and has several little games of it's own, before you move on to learn the next piece. It works very well and you find yourself learning to play chess quite easily.
I admit that I purchased this game in the hope of intoducing my daughter to a more intellectual game like chess (she is a very "Barbie" girl)and it worked out better than I could have hoped. She learned the game very quickly and loves playing against the Dinosaurs. In fact she has now moved on to asking everyone to play a game with her.
I also must admit that I had forgotten how to play and so I was happy to "borrow" her game and get caught back up. Now I don't have to pretend to be busy when she challenges me to a game! (Her Dad was always quite a good player)
This game was a great purchase for our family! |
