3rd World Farmer is a new kind of game. It aims at simulating the real-world mechanisms that cause and sustain poverty in 3rd World countries.
In the game, the player gets to manage an African farm, and is soon confronted with the often difficult choices that poverty and conflict necessitate. We find this kind of experience efficient at making the issues relevant to people, because players tend to invests their hopes in a game character whose fate depends on him. The developers aim at making the player "experience" the injustices, rather than being told about them, so as to stimulate a deeper and more personal reflection on the topics...

adversaries—dictators, military occupiers and corrupt rulers, using methods that
have succeeded in actual conflicts—not with laser rays or AK47s, but with
non-military strategies and nonviolent weapons? Such a game, A Force
More Powerful (AFMP), is now available.

A game where you are president of the European Nations. You must tackle climate
change and stay popular enough with the voters to remain in office.
Currently there is a growing consensus amongst climate researchers that
Earth's climate is changing in response to manmade greenhouse gas emissions. The
main debate amongst scientists is focussed on the amount of climate change we
can expect, not whether it will happen.
